These Kahlua & Creme babycakes were done today for a special Girls Night Out Birthday party. A Kahlua soaked dark chocolate cake with a Kahlua butter cream frosting topped with chocolate drizzle. I know right??? Enjoy!

Cupcake Tees

I absolutely adore graphic tees, so when I came upon this one I had to have it. I think it is hilarious and although I'm all about being sweet, this one takes the cake!!! Sweet 30

This year (February) I turned 30. I decided to have 3 celebrations in a different city. Where I'm from, where I've been and where I am now. So, I did NYC, D.C and Detroit. It was fantastic. The last and final party was celebrated in Detroit. 2 of my best friends who share close birthdays with me were also guest of honors. Joi (one of the birthday girls) and myself had been working on how we were going to display the Baby Cakes that we knew we wanted for the party. We got inspired by a picture that we saw online. So we decided to choose that as our dessert theme. Our colors were fuchsia and black. Bake Sweet Love did 125 (black) chocolate orange Baby Cakes with (fuchsia)orange/lemon butter cream frosting. There was a mini cake with vanilla fondant on the top of the tier. At the bottom, we did dark chocolate chip cookie treat bags. Everything was a hit!!!

Birthday Love

Here it is! My grandmother's 80th birthday was held on September 7, 2008. It was fantastic! It was held at the Detroit Yacht Club and was amazing. Over 300 guest arrived, she received proclamations from everyone from the Governor to the Mayor. The highlights were some beautiful songs sung by her old campers, great speeches given by family and awesome food.



Bake Sweet Love sponsored the babycakes and they were a hit!!!! People were picking them up by 2's and 3's. My mother said she had never seen anything like that. I think that's one of the things I love about babycakes, you get to have your own personal cake. Anywhooo, enjoy the pictures. I'm just sorry you didn't get to taste them!!!!

BIRTHDAY SWEETS

My fabulous sister(in-law)recently celebrated her birthday with the family. It was intimate and sweet. I really wanted to create some babycakes that were a reflection of the kind of woman she is. So I came up with my traditional lemon babycakes with lemon buttercream frosting. But I used a flower effect for the design and topped them off with fresh strawberries. She's just that. Always, growing into something beautiful like a flower, bright like the color yellow and sweet like strawberries. I even have some cookies named after her (The Smart Cookie). Since she was birthday girl she had a supersized babycake!!! Enjoy!
