Christmas Memories

My sister asked me what was my fondest memory of Christmas. I knew right away what to tell her. It was when I got my Easy Bake Oven. I was soooo excited!! My mom always made it a point to encourage my "culinary hobbies". She bought me candy and ice cream makers but the one thing that stuck out was my Easy Bake Oven. Every little girl who's ever had one knows exactly what I'm talking about. The ability to bake without having to worry about the oven and stovetops. All you needed was a light bulb!! (haha) I'd make all kinds of random sweets. Brownies, cakes, etc. (and they were good!!) So this is an tribute to all the little girls around the world (some who have grown up into women) and some who are just discovering this wonderful toy. My niece already knows that when she turns 8 years old (she's 5 now) she is getting an Easy Bake Oven. So Happy Holidays to you all. Enjoy family, food and everything sweet!!!

Why Blog?

Why Blog????

I'm glad you asked!!!!!
The purpose of my blog is to let people into my life a little bit and know where my inspirations come from and how they are born. I want people to get a sense of who I am and where all of the love lives. It’s about being sweet and letting life be sweet to you. Enjoying the big and little blessings in life. So from that, I share my experiences, and the love that I continue to receive and give from friends, and family.
I hope that you as well can benefit and enjoy the readings!!!

Birthday Love

Here it is! My grandmother's 80th birthday was held on September 7, 2008. It was fantastic! It was held at the Detroit Yacht Club and was amazing. Over 300 guest arrived, she received proclamations from everyone from the Governor to the Mayor. The highlights were some beautiful songs sung by her old campers, great speeches given by family and awesome food.

Bake Sweet Love sponsored the babycakes and they were a hit!!!! People were picking them up by 2's and 3's. My mother said she had never seen anything like that. I think that's one of the things I love about babycakes, you get to have your own personal cake. Anywhooo, enjoy the pictures. I'm just sorry you didn't get to taste them!!!!
These were lemon, vanilla and chocolate babycakes with vanilla and lemon buttercream frosting.

Beary Sweet

My niece and I spent a day out in Manhattan together. I thought it would be fun to go shopping, see a show and have lunch. I surprised her and took her to Build-a-Bear Workshop at the end of the day. I'll be honest, "Auntie Yana" is known for her cupcakes and cookies with her niece and nephew. A lot of times when we're together I'll let them help out with the baking. Sonny (my nephew) is more interested in the end result. He is an expert in the spice sprinkling department. Well, once we got to Build-a-Bear, she picked out her bear. After she chose her bear she decided on an outfit. I had NOTHING to do with her decision making in the outfit but when I saw it I was so touched. (she picked one out for her brother who she dressed like her dad) So now her bear looks like Auntie Yana!!! hahaha!!!
How cute is this???

Nutty Buddy

Growing up I was close with all of my siblings. My second oldest brother and I got especially close throughout high school. He drove me to school and looked out for his freshman sister while he was a senior. We were each others buddies. Literally, we came up with the endearing term "buddy" for one another. Even through college (we went to the same one) once again he took care of his freshman sister while he was a big bad senior. lol. Even years later, we still use that term. It's a little nutty but nice. These are my Peanut Buddy Cookies with a little twist. I did a milk chocolate drizzle over them for my chocolate lovers. A great chunky peanut butter cookie any day of the week.
